Project Summary

Located in the coastal hills of La Jolla, this project called for the full restoration and maintenance of a modern home’s extensive woodwork — including deck surfaces, cladding, planters, privacy walls, and stairs. Our client, Robert Wheat, wanted to refresh the home’s exterior features while preserving their rich character and enhancing their resistance to sun, moisture, and coastal exposure. The goal was to achieve a sleek, cohesive finish across every wooden surface while maintaining a luxurious, contemporary aesthetic.

What We Did

This multi-surface project involved careful preparation and treatment of various exterior wood elements:

We began with a full surface clean to strip away weathering, surface grime, and faded tones. Once fully dried, each piece was treated with TWP (Total Wood Preservative) in Dark Oak — a premium penetrating finish that adds depth, richness, and long-term protection to hardwoods exposed to outdoor elements. This product was ideal for unifying the home’s various wood tones into one clean, architectural look without compromising the natural grain.
