Dirt Damage

Dirt, Air pollution, and plant materials like pollen build up quickly on your wood, clogging the wood’s pores and discoloring the surface. Professional cleaning and or sanding removes these contaminants and is the first step in teak refinishing.

Sun Day

Icon-uv-sunrays Even on hazy days, our Southern California sun has strong UV rays that penetrate your wood, dry it, and bleach out any color pigmentation. Our Professional grade, deep penetrating stain, and sealer will restore color and protect your wood from the damaging impact of the Sun.

Rain Damage

Icon-rainstorm. Our Coastal fog and occasional rain carry within it acidic chemicals and bio-material making your wood a perfect home for growing mold and mildew. This is where the gray, black, and green spots come from. Once again our high-quality stain and sealer applied to a well-prepared surface will create a breathable yet tough barrier against these harmful elements.

Investment

Our outdoor wood refinishing and protection service not only keeps your outdoor furniture looking great, but it can extend its life by decades. The return on your investment is clear and certain.

What Is Teak Refinishing?

Wood or Teak refinishing is a term that describes a series of steps involved when you wish to bring back the beauty of your outdoor wood and protect it against future damage. Teak Refinishing technically relates to the surfaces of wood, whereas teak refurbishing may include structural repairs or replacing parts. Teak and Deck can fix small structural issues, but we are not a “re-builder of furniture”. Our teak refinishing services are best used for correcting graying, molding, or drying damage to your outdoor wood furniture, decks, or doors.

Teak Refinishing Process

Disassembling the outdoor furniture when necessary so that all areas can be accessed and thoroughly refinished.

Correct minor damage to your wood furniture such as scratches, dents, or filling minor chips and holes.

If oils, lacquers, or other surface seals have been applied in the past, these materials will be stripped away using a mild, eco-friendly stripping agent.

Professionally cleaning the wood with a quality cleaner and specialized scrubbers.

Sanding wood to remove surface burs, deep dirt stains, and create a perfect surface for applying a wood stain and seal.

Applying a wood PH balancer that restores your wood's PH back to a natural state, brightens the wood’s natural color, and opens up the wood’s pores for optimal stain and seal conditions. The PH balancer is NOT a bleach, it is a gentle PH conditioner that delivers powerful results.

Applying a wood stain and sealer to create your preferred wood color and seal your wood blocking out moisture, air pollutants, and the damaging effects of the sun’s UV rays.

A final and extremely fine-grit sanding may be applied as the last step to smooth away small burs.
